Life as a graduate.

12 Jun

Since my last post, I graduated with BS in “electronic arts, audio production” with a minor in music recording from Missouri State University.

Now that school is out of the way, I can really get some work done.  I just accepted a job as tech director of the Gillioz Theatre in Springfield, Missouri.  Last night, my first show, we hosted the Warren Haynes Band.  Great show, great crew.  I think I’m going to dig this role.  More on that later.

I worked a gig for Southwest Audio-Visual today at the Downstream Casino just across the Oklahoma border from Joplin, MO.  The event was being held for Joplin hospital workers affected by the recent devastating tornado.  We used an extremely handy Cat5/VGA balun system SAV just picked up to run four LCD televisions and an overflow room feed to the building next door to the tent housing our stage…wish I could remember the make and model of the baluns…oh well, here’s a picture of Missouri Governor Jay Nixon giving a few remarks.
